My Setup is a little crazy for someone who is just kinda starting out.
I use Traktor into Ableton live(using jack) out to a Behringer djx750 mixer with a xone:2D as my sound card and MIDI controler
I do it like this for a few reasons.... I like to mix in Traktor. I find it easier to: find tracks, cue point, loop, beat match in side Traktor. In side Ableton live, I like the effects a lot better, and the control you can have over them, with that said, I do use some effects in Traktor.. but only one that sound better in tractor.
One thing I can say, I just don't like the filters in Traktor. I built a 1knob filter in Ableton live using auto filter that is damn close to the DJM filter.
I use a hardware mixer for the EQ's really. I don't like the EQ's in Traktor, EQ3 in Ableton live colors the sound to much for me and EQ8 was a paint to get it to work like EQ3.
Now the Behringer DJX 750 dose have effects on it... but they only sound good if you have never used effects from anything use and you don't know any better.
I got the DJX 750 as a gift from a friend, so I'm fine with using it for now. I'm "trying" to save up for a xone:42 or 92. I love the A&H filters and the sound of the audio as it come out of the mixer. Something about a true analog mixer and the way it warms up the sound that I just love. I have looked at DJM mixers, but I just fine the sound a bit lacking. Seeing how I use software effects, I don't really need them built into the mixer.
I will post a pick later.
